Writing
Writing has been central throughout my 20+ year career as a newspaper journalist and agency PR manager, and now as a freelancer. I am experienced in delivering tailored content which hits the brief, creates the right narrative and receives positive reactions from clients and editors. I help craft the perfect copy, from press releases and editorials, to technical reports and white papers, to website copy, to blogs and social media posts, to marketing and advertising content.

Journalism
As a newspaper editor, I managed a team of reporters, planned and sub-edited page content, contributed various articles, and wrote my own weekly column. I understand the importance of making a relevant pitch and then delivering on your plan. With meticulous and thorough research, and by finding and connecting with the key spokespeople, I deliver well-structured, engaging articles to meet the commission. I write sailing articles and blogs, equipment and product reviews, and travel and hotel reviews.

PR
Since 2012, I managed the PR strategy as the main or sole agency contact for various marine clients, including: ACR Electronics, Dometic, Karpaz Gate Marina, Inmarsat, Ocean Signal, Smartgyro, YANMAR, VETUS. Whether it is to raise awareness about a startup, launch a product or strengthen reputation, I win coverage through media research, pitching to editors and placing articles in key publications, online and print. I can advise on the best steps to reach the market, attract attention and drive action.

Copyrighting
I build brand message by creating new copy, or by reworking and editing content which needs refreshing, updating or expanding. Tailored for the audience, sector and platform, I will take time to find the optimal style and language to achieve results. I can help with content for websites, marketing brochures and flyers, emails, social media, advertising and more. I can work on any project, big or small, as and when most needed.

Content marketing
I support clients with content to make an impact, incorporating the right angles, key words and phrases to attract attention in the relevant sector. Working with editors on advertorials and other articles, I will help place content on the right platform to position a client amongst the industry’s high-profile thought leaders, strengthen reputation, raise brand awareness and communicate company news and innovations. I write blogs, case studies, customer stories and more to win coverage, reach the target audience, raise awareness, and build value and reputation.

Proofreading
I have an eye for detail and a compulsion to double check everything. I catch the errors, spelling and grammar mistakes, careless sentences or incorrect names in any company content or marketing which could be missed. For brochures, handbooks, reports or trade show material, I provide a fresh eye and perspective to ensure you make the best impression with clean, clear content for new and current customers. I also plan, research, manage and write content for client projects, including brochures and handbooks, helping with page planning decisions, headlines, sub-headings and content.
